Performance Assessment
Every internal marketing problem comes down to one of four things
Your internal team performance challenges are coming from at least one (usually several) of these categories:
- People → The wrong roles, or the wrong people in the right roles.
- Priorities → Either no one’s set them, or no one’s communicated them.
- Plans → Missing, or nobody’s held to them.
- Processes → Absent, or so heavy nothing moves.
The rest of your challenges live in the gaps, where marketing meets sales, product and the exec team, which is exactly why we rebuild that connective tissue too.
What actually happens once we’re in
We take marketing off your desk and are accountable for the results. It starts with an approved plan to hit your targets: what to keep, what to cut, and what to prioritize, so the team stops firefighting and starts moving with purpose. We rebuild the connective tissue between marketing, sales and product, so everyone rows in the same direction. Marketing is about driving pipeline, so we focus on what matters, real numbers you can take to the board.
You probably think you need someone full-time
Most CEOs do, at first. But the fix your marketing needs isn’t necessarily more hours in the seat, it’s the right priorities and someone fully accountable for hitting them. A fractional CMO gives you immediate senior ownership of the plan and results, at whatever pace your business requires, so that you can focus on finding a great full-time CMO. If the team needs more time, the retainer simply scales with the number of days per week.
The first 90 days
While the plan comes together, anything important in flight (a launch, an event, etc.) keeps moving seamlessly. We’re also getting to know the team and resetting expectations.
- Week 1 → We run a Performance Assessment, digging into what’s been working and what hasn’t, docs, decks, numbers, and talking to the marketing team and key stakeholders directly.
- Week 2 → We build the plan, what to keep, cut, and prioritize.
- Week 3 → We present the plan for your feedback and approval.
- Week 4 → We’re driving real changes, well beyond “getting oriented.”
